Koi Carps New Shoulderbag

Lately I am working on older sketches and turning them into full color illustrations. During our trip to Japan I made a lot of sketches, but I didn't find time to turn them into finished artwork. This new shoulder bag design is inspired by Japan.

In the video I tell you a little bit more about this new design. To make it a little bit more interesting you can win this bag :). The video is in English ;).

New collection on Etsy

To push myself into making more designs I wanted to set a date for an Etsy shop update. I wanted to upload 10 new items at once. It pushed me to create more items, which felt very good. The more I make, the better I become. And the more I make, the more there is to choose from. It was fun to set a date and to work towards that date to lance a new collection of unique items. Maybe I will redo this concept in the future to make sure I make new designs for sale :).Lees verder/continue reading

Inspired by the Rowan Tree

The Rowan tree is a real witches tree. The Rowan tree has long been known for being a magickal tree. It’s has an important role in many mythology and folklore stories.

The Rowan tree is a great protector, it protects against bad luck & evil. It has been used for many years to make walking sticks and magician's staves, as well as Druid staffs and wands.  Even today is is still one of the most sought after woods for wands and amulets. It is believed to help psychic abilities and connections.  If you look at the berries when you remove them from the stick you will notice the pentacle symbol where they were attached.

Technically we don’t have a Rowan tree in our garden, but our neighbours do. It’s in their front yard and most branches overlap to our side. I don’t mind at all, I think it’s a wonderful tree. It’s not a very big one, but it is absolutely a pretty one. It’s also very handy because I have Rowan berries and leaves within reach.

Jewelry photography in nature – A creative business

A few weeks ago we went to Deutschland. We were in the Eiffel, what a beautiful place! Dense forests and untouched nature, absolutely stunning! I already  suspected the place to be beautiful, so I took some jewelry designs and my camera with me.

I thought it would be fun to experiment a bit more with photographing my jewelry designs in natural surroundings. The forest was a perfect place for that experiment. I wanted to create a magical, mysterious atmosphere, with a slightly dark touch/lightning.

I am not a photographer, but I find photography and the creating of images and photo’s really interesting. Especially when I can manage to photograph in a style that identifies me and my company.Lees verder/continue reading

Mystic Flowers jewelry set

An jewelry set idea I had in my mind for a while. Inspired by Spring I wanted to make something with flowers. I didn’t used the color purple for a while, so I tought it would be nice to use that color again. For this set I combined several materials I like working with. I searched for pretty silver plated leaf and flower charms and I started sketching ideas. I also wanted to use clay en handmade marble glass-stones.
