2019 Inktober Spirits

Inktober 2019, It has been a very busy month. Sadly I was only able to make 3 illustrations for Inktober in the month October. I had to many other obligations and in the evenings I was to tired to draw for my own project. Anyway, I absolutely love my Inktober 2019 theme, so I will continue with this project. In the end I will have 31 illustrations within my chosen theme :).

Spirits

My theme for this Inktober is 'Spirits'. From Spirit Animals to creatures, ghosts, deities, gods & goddesses from different spiritual beliefs. It's a theme with many possibilities.

Finished Inktober 2018

Last inktober I was able to make 17 ink illustrations, not more. Because I really liked my theme 'witchy vibes' I wanted to make at least 31 illustrations. And although the new inktober begins tomorrow I wanted to finish Inktober 2018 before tomorrow. So I made that happen :P. (It took me a whole year, but who cares). I liked drawing these illustrations and I learned from them, that's what really matters :).

Inktober 2018 – Witchy Vibes theme

This year I participated again with inktober. During October I tried to make an ink illustration each day. Because I had some important deadlines in October, I already new an illustration each day wouldn't be possible, but I gave it my best shot :).

I knew I wanted to work with a theme again and I already knew the theme for a long time. On Pinterest I collected lots of information about witchy themes. With Pinterest Boards as 'Stones & Meaning' and ‘Plants, Flowers & Herbs my theme for this year was 'Witchy Vibes', focusing on 'everything magical.' I also found some interesting books that formed the base of my information resources. For example ‘The Green Witch’ & ‘The illustrated Herbiary'.

A refection on Inktober 2017

This was for me the third year I participated the Inktober challenge. In this blog I look back on the month October and Inktober.

Inktober; 31 illustration with ink, every day one illustration. that's the idea. A huge chance to practice your drawing skills, that's for sure. it's also very heavy, it takes a lot of your time, but I decided to participate again anyway.

A mermaid and her friend

Although I am far behind with my daily sketches, I still try to sketch when I have some time left. It’s good practice. Last Sunday I had a ‘lazy Sunday’ so I had a whole day for myself. For some time now I wanted to work out a mermaid sketch I did for one of my daily sketches. And because I had a lazy Sunday, I had the time to do so. This mermaid sketch is the one I wanted to color:Lees verder/continue reading

‘Pumpkin Land’ pattern design

A personal interest of mine is designing patterns. It’s a nice way of expressing creativity and I find it important to extend my portfolio with some pattern designs. When I create patterns just for my portfolio, I can chose the subjects myself. I love Halloween, so I decided to design a pattern with a Halloween/Autumn genre.Lees verder/continue reading

Happy Valentine’s Day

I wish everyone a happy Valentine’s Day!

Although I believe that love is important the entire year and not only today, I still like Valentine. it’s important to realize how lucky you are to have family and friends around you that love you unconditionally. Close friends and loving family are sometimes hard to find. Lees verder/continue reading

A new patterndesign

Since I followed the course ‘illustration, digital and analog’ I know how I can make patterns. I find it a lot of fun to make them :). Sadly I didn’t had the time to make new ones lately. A few weeks ago I was just sketching some leaves and it occurred to me the elements would be perfect for a pattern. So I took my sketches and made them into line-art. After that I choose a color pallet I gave it color.Lees verder/continue reading
