Inspired by the Rowan Tree

The Rowan tree is a real witches tree. The Rowan tree has long been known for being a magickal tree. It’s has an important role in many mythology and folklore stories.

The Rowan tree is a great protector, it protects against bad luck & evil. It has been used for many years to make walking sticks and magician's staves, as well as Druid staffs and wands.  Even today is is still one of the most sought after woods for wands and amulets. It is believed to help psychic abilities and connections.  If you look at the berries when you remove them from the stick you will notice the pentacle symbol where they were attached.

Technically we don’t have a Rowan tree in our garden, but our neighbours do. It’s in their front yard and most branches overlap to our side. I don’t mind at all, I think it’s a wonderful tree. It’s not a very big one, but it is absolutely a pretty one. It’s also very handy because I have Rowan berries and leaves within reach.

Quickly after that I bought Derwent pencils, Faber Castel pencils and Copic Markers. I love bright colors and color contrasts and those tree materials are perfect for that. Lees verder/continue reading
